If you read carefully

reads a parenthetical phrase in the opening sentence of Exercise 1 (Conceptual Mathematics, page 306).  What do we have to really do in actuality–in here now?  Is it like reading featherless bipeds and finally saying, oh, I see fallen angels!  Or is it like reading particular, concrete general, and abstract general into your cat, you dreaming about it, and some thoughts of it?  Or more like getting Economics Nobel for realizing how ridiculously easy it is to confuse people?  Moving along (I like this phrase), let me do the exercise first.
