A love letter
Picturebooks are great. I am grateful to the ones who thought of a picture of an apple with the word apple printed suggestively as an introduction to education–a working model of human experience, which is used as a method: there are things out-there, pictures in my head, and then there is me looking at the picturebook i.e. something telling the thing corresponding to each one of the pictures in my head. I don’t have any picture of many of the things out-there (sorry onto function) and I have more than one picture of somethings (sorry 1-1). This is beginning to look a lot like the definition of function (with inside-the-head as domain and outside-the-head as codomain; Conceptual Mathematics, page 83).
